Day 1 • Arrival & Welcome Hotel in Wulingyuan Scenic Area

Upon your arrival at Zhangjiajie Hehua Airport or Zhangjiajie West Railway Station, your professional, English-speaking guide and experienced driver will be waiting for you with a welcome sign, ready to assist you with your luggage. You will then board a comfortable private coach (air-conditioned, spacious, and clean) for a smooth transfer to your pre-booked hotel in Wulingyuan Scenic Area. The transfer time is approximately 30-40 minutes from the airport and 15-20 minutes from the railway station.
After arriving at the hotel, our guide will help you complete the check-in process efficiently. You will have the rest of the day free to relax, settle into your room, and recover from your journey. If you arrive early, you can take a short stroll around the hotel area to get a first taste of Zhangjiajie’s fresh air and nearby mountain views. Dinner is at your own expense, and our guide will be happy to recommend authentic local restaurants serving Hunan and Tujia cuisine.
Day 2 • Golden Whip Stream & Grand Canyon Glass Bridge Hotel in Wulingyuan Scenic Area

In the morning, after a delicious breakfast at the hotel (breakfast included if your hotel package covers it), you will take the private coach to the South Gate of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. Our guide will assist you with purchasing park tickets and checking in at the entrance, saving you time from waiting in long queues.
First, you will embark on a leisurely walk along the Golden Whip Stream – a 7.5-kilometer-long scenic trail known as the “most beautiful stream in Zhangjiajie”. The trail is flat and easy to walk, surrounded by dense, lush primeval forests, crystal-clear streams that ripple over smooth stones, and towering quartz sandstone peaks that rise straight into the sky. Along the way, you will pass iconic spots such as “Golden Whip Rock” (a 380-meter-tall peak shaped like a whip), “Fairy Maiden Showering Flowers”, and “Giant Salamander Pool”, where you may even spot wild small animals if you’re lucky. The fresh, negative-ion-rich air makes this walk a refreshing and relaxing experience, perfect for starting your Zhangjiajie adventure. The walk along the stream takes about 1.5-2 hours.
After enjoying the tranquility of Golden Whip Stream, we will proceed to Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon & Glass Bridge by private coach (approximately 40 minutes’ drive). Upon arrival, you will take the first elevator ride (included in the tour) down to the canyon floor, where you will be greeted by the breathtaking view of the world’s highest and longest glass-bottom bridge – the Grand Canyon Glass Bridge (Yuntian Du).
This iconic bridge spans 430 meters in length, 6 meters in width, and is suspended 300 meters above the canyon floor, with a fully transparent glass surface that offers a thrilling, unobstructed view of the deep gorge, winding streams, and lush greenery below. You can walk across the bridge at your own pace, take photos of the stunning canyon views, and even feel the gentle sway of the bridge (a normal phenomenon due to its design). Please note that zipline, slide, and VR experiences at the Grand Canyon are not included in the tour and can be purchased separately if you wish.
After exploring the glass bridge and the surrounding canyon scenery (about 2 hours), we will return to Wulingyuan by private coach. Dinner is at your own expense, and you can choose to try local specialties like Tujia three-pot stir-fry or grilled fish.
Day 3 • Zhangjiajie National Forest Park (Tianzi Mountain, Airborne Garden, Yuanjiajie, Bailong Elevator) Hotel in Wulingyuan Scenic Area

After breakfast at the hotel, take the private coach to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park via the Wulingyuan Gate entrance – the most convenient entrance for accessing the park’s core attractions. Our guide will handle the park check-in again, and we will start the day with a ride on the Bailong Elevator (Hundred Dragons Sky Elevator) – the world’s tallest outdoor sightseeing elevator, standing at 326 meters high.
The elevator ride takes just 1 minute and 58 seconds, offering a spectacular bird’s-eye view of the thousands of quartz sandstone peaks below as you ascend to the Yuanjiajie Scenic Area. Upon reaching the top, you will explore Yuanjiajie Scenic Area, the iconic location that inspired the “floating mountains” in the movie Avatar. Here, you will visit the famous Avatar Hallelujah Mountain (also known as “Southern Sky Column”), a 150-meter-tall peak that seems to float among the clouds on misty days. You will also walk along the “Eternal Avenue” and “Heaven’s First Bridge” – a natural stone arch spanning two peaks, offering panoramic views of the surrounding peak forest.
Next, take the convenient park shuttle bus (included in the park ticket) to Tianzi Mountain – one of the most scenic spots in Zhangjiajie, known as the “King of Peak Forests”. Tianzi Mountain offers stunning views of endless quartz sandstone peaks, rolling hills, and, if the weather permits, a magnificent sea of clouds that covers the valleys below, creating a fairy-tale-like landscape. You will visit viewing platforms such as “Helan Mountain Viewpoint” and “Tianzi Pavilion” to capture the best photos of the peak forest. The visit to Tianzi Mountain takes about 1.5 hours.
After Tianzi Mountain, we will head to the Airborne Garden (also called “Feitian Garden”) – a hidden gem nestled among the mountains. This tranquil spot features terraced fields, lush vegetation, and unique rock formations, offering a peaceful contrast to the grandeur of the peak forest. You can stroll along the quiet paths, enjoy the idyllic scenery, and take a break from the crowds. The Airborne Garden is a perfect place to experience the natural beauty and serenity of Zhangjiajie.
In the late afternoon, we will take the park shuttle bus back to the Wulingyuan Gate entrance and return to the hotel by private coach. Dinner is at your own expense, and our guide can recommend nearby night markets or local restaurants for a taste of street food.
Day 4 • Tianmen Mountain & Departure

On the final day of your tour, after breakfast at the hotel, take the private coach to Tianmen Mountain (Heavenly Gate Mountain) – one of Zhangjiajie’s most iconic landmarks, known as the “No.1 Mountain in Western Hunan”. The transfer to Tianmen Mountain takes approximately 40 minutes from Wulingyuan.
Upon arrival, you will take the world’s longest mountain cable car (7,455 meters in length) from the foot of the mountain to the summit. The 28-minute cable car ride offers breathtaking panoramic views of Zhangjiajie City, lush forests, steep cliffs, and the winding Tongtian Avenue (99-Bend Road) below. As you ascend, you will feel as if you are flying above the mountains, with stunning views at every turn.
Once you reach the summit, you will explore the core attractions of Tianmen Mountain, including the Tianmen Cave (Heaven’s Gate) – a massive natural arch (131.5 meters high and 57 meters wide) carved into the mountain, known as the “Highest Natural Cave in the World”. You can climb the 999 steps leading up to the cave (optional, or take the elevator if you prefer) to stand beneath this magnificent natural wonder and enjoy the views from the top.
You will also experience the thrilling Cliff-Hanging Glass Walkway – a 60-meter-long path clinging to the side of the mountain at 1,430 meters above sea level, with a transparent glass surface that offers a heart-pounding view of the valley below. Additionally, you can visit other attractions such as the “Ghost Valley Plank Road” (a narrow path along the cliff) and the “Tianmen Temple” (a historic Buddhist temple with a history of over 1,500 years).
After exploring Tianmen Mountain for about 3-4 hours, we will take the cable car back down to the foot of the mountain and board the private coach for transfer to the railway station (Zhangjiajie West Railway Station) as per your departure schedule. Our guide will ensure you arrive at the station on time, helping you with your luggage and wishing you a pleasant journey home. This marks the end of your wonderful Zhangjiajie tour.
